On July 9, 2026, the Classic Open Air kicks off at the Gendarmenmarkt with a very special evening: Principal Conductor Joana Mallwitz, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and the outstanding soloist Hayato Sumino will take you on a journey through the musical metropolises of Berlin, Paris, and New York with Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” and the legendary “Rhapsody in Blue.” Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Konzerthaus, the German Cathedral, and the French Cathedral, you’ll also enjoy Kurt Weill’s “Symphony No. 2” after intermission.
